What's American? What Isn't?

The three pictures depicting American scenes show what is important to Americans and how our culture has affected those around the world. Disney and the American entertainment industry has found itself penetrating the economies of countries across the globe.

More than 14 million people visit California's Disneyland every year. Even more visit Orlando's Disney World every year.

Los Angeles- There are approx. 3.8 million people in Los Angeles according to the Census Bureau. L.A is also the Mecca of the American entertainment industry.

The Green Bay Packers defeated in the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dallas at Superbowl 45. The Superbowl  is the most watched event on television. A 30 second commercial spot costs nearly $3 million. Super Bowl Sunday has the second-most food consumption behind Thanksgiving.

The following photos represent an American perseption of Ireland, China and Venice. Although Ireland has a beautiful and green countryside, it also has major cities like the U.S. Perhaps China's ancient architecture comes to mind when thinking about the country but it also has some of the world's greatest modern architectural feats. Venice stands alone as a city built on the water but is highly recognized around the world.

Ireland's countryside is lush and green due to its constantly changing but temperate climate. Ireland has gained a reputation for its beautiful countryside but also has major-metropolitan areas like Dublin and Belfast.

There are a few remaining buildings predating the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) left in China. China is home to one-fifth of the world's population.

Venice has been called "the most beautiful city built by man" and has become known as one of the most romantic cities in Europe. It consists of a series of islands connected by bridges. Its citizens navigate its canals.
